Quadrant House works closely with Freedom and has our package on a Wednesday afternoon. We love working with this crazy bunch! Here's what the nursery owner has to say about our classes:

" I would like to thank Laura-Jayne and the Freedom Team for all your hard work with our children. They love that you teach dance on a weekly basis and  we love that you fit each class around our terms topic and make sure you meet the EYFS requirements with your planning. Our children and staff absolutely love their lessons with you, so thanks you once again! "

Why is dance important in schools?

Freedom has taught in schools now for the past four years and we love to see how excited children get knowing dance is on the curriculum. All children need the chance to express themselves in one way or another, and dance can be the perfect opportunity to do this.

Physical development

Dance helps children's physical development in so many ways, kinaesthetic memory, balance and motor skills and unlike other forms of exercise, uses the entire body. We find children who may struggle in other areas of school life excel in their dance classes as dance is about freedom, expression and individuality.

Social skills

Dance, more often than not, involves more than one person. This means that in class time students will be able to interact with one another, put forward ideas and work within groups.

This has such a positive effect on children's social skills and confidence.

Dance has no barriers

Freedom has worked with lots of non English speaking children over the past few years and have seen them excel in dance as dance has no language barrier. They can access the lessons easily and build confidence within themselves and their settings, which in turn leads to positive involvement in the rest of the school day.

Freedom Dancers offers:

* PPA cover

* After and before school clubs

* Cheerleading team clubs ( why not enter your school into the school cheerleading nationals)

"Laura-Jayne’s association with Flowery Field extends back some considerable time to 2010. By 2014, she left school’s direct employment to set up her own dance school - Freedom Dancers.

During all of the intervening years, she has maintained a close working relationship with our school and, for the first years, based her teaching in our hall. Since opening her own studio in Hyde, this relationship has continued to provide a fantastic introduction to dance for all of our pupils, many of whom have taken this further outside of school.

We have entered many competitions, including cheerleading, and been regular participants in the annual Hyde’s Got Talent event at the Town Hall. Our dancers have performed in festivals and out in public at events such as the Christmas Market, when Laura-Jayne even persuaded the Mayor to join in a routine! Our end-of-year dance shows have become a firm favourite with parents and affords the children opportunities to display their skills and confidence.

All pupils now accept dance as part of our PE and Sport offering and thanks to the flexibility and professionalism of the Freedom Staff, it supports learning across the wider curriculum. As a solution to the demands of PPA, we have found the relationships developed with Freedom Staff both positive and motivating for our pupils."
